Cindy Irvine
Cindy Irvine began her Iyengar Yoga practice in 1995 when a yoga instructor who shared an office building with her commented on how stressed she looked. Cindy walked by the studio each day on her way to her job as a librarian for the authors of “Our Bodies, Ourselves,” a women’s health reference book.
When Cindy finally took up the teacher’s challenge to do yoga, she felt better. After extensive training including anatomy and yoga teacher training, she started teaching yoga herself in 2000.
Today, she teaches yoga in the Iyengar style and finds the practice an invaluable tool for physical and emotional health. Cindy feels that growing up in Hawaii had a mellowing influence on her personality, and this is reflected in her teaching style, which combines precision, love and laughter.

What People Are Saying
We have enjoyed going to Cindy’s classes since she started teaching at [the studio]. She is always understanding of our limitations, yet we are challenged in every class. Her personality is well-suited to teaching yoga: fun, supportive and balanced. She has really grown to be a terrific–and one of our favorite–yoga instructors. – Mike Morgan and Nancy Babka
